Discover proven strategies for strengthening your brand's authority in 9 easy steps. From product excellence (featuring Tony's Chocolonely) to customer service mastery (like Amazon), learn how successful brands maintain their edge. This guide covers essential elements, including brand identity, omnichannel content strategy, customer advocacy, and adaptable marketing approaches. Perfect for marketing leaders looking to enhance their brand's presence and brand authority across digital channels.

1. Have a great product

Now the first and the most important thing is to have a great product. For example, I'm not a fan of chocolate. In fact, I have presents from last year, that friends gave me, still sitting up there. But you see this thing called Tony's Chocolonely, I am absolutely wild for it. I can't keep it in the fridge for longer than 24 hours because I will guzzle it like a crazy person.

This is my favorite example of what a brand's product should be. This is how every product should be. It should make people become obsessed with your product that they just want to spend time on it. Whether it's software, chocolate, or clothes, you need to have a great product or there is no brand authority.

2. Deliver impeccable service

Now closely linked to a great product is impeccable service delivery. My example for this is Amazon. Every time I buy a product on Amazon, I buy with confidence, knowing that I can return the product and the return process is so easy.

You want a product that people are not just using, but also that when they reach out to your support, they get an incredible experience. It also sends signals to search engines that people love your products.

3. Have a strong brand identity

A strong brand identity is crucial. For instance, I know Nike by the swoosh symbol. You don't have to be Nike, but think of how you can create a consistent brand identity on your website and on social media.

4. Be where your customers are

It is very important to know where your customers are hanging out. Great tools like SparkToro can help you identify these places, be it social media, podcasts, or community forums.

5. Have an omnichannel approach to marketing

Once you find out where your customers hang out, you can create an omnichannel content approach. This approach allows you to diversify your content channels, including social media, podcasts, and blogs.

6. Create content that solves problems

You know your audience and your omnichannel approach; next, create content that solves problems. Utilize tools like Moz’s Keyword Explorer to identify specific audience needs.

7. Empower your customers to become brand ambassadors

Empowering your customers to create content can significantly enhance your brand's credibility. This organic endorsement can greatly influence potential customers' decisions.

8. Leverage niche influencers

Partnering with niche influencers who resonate with your target audience can bring authentic feedback and content about your brand. This approach can lead to a higher conversion rate.

9. Be agile and adaptive

Finally, allow room for flexibility in your content strategy. Stay adaptive to industry changes to ensure your brand stays relevant and maintains audience trust. Consider short-term content strategies that allow for timely responses to emerging trends.
